3/02/04 The four of cups
In this card we see a green pasture . The sky is light blue. At the foot of a fir tree sits a peasant boy dressed in red and gray (his passions are in disillusion).  He looks dissatisfied and bored. In front of him are three golden cups,  the contents which are unknown to him. Out of a silver lined cloud, a fourth cup is being offered but the boy ignores the gift. The number four is a number of structure and security. The suit of cups is the element of water (emotions). Today's reflection is:acceptance. What may appear to feel negative, could in fact be positive, but we must first look at what is being offered before shunning it away. When we feel emotionally saddened, we become so self involved that we do not see the love around us. Emotions can be a funny thing. Someone is trying to offer their support but we don’t see it, even though it is right there in front of us. When you feel alone, look around you because there is more love in your life than you realize.

3/09/04 The chariot
In this card we see a man of importance, perhaps coming back from a battle. He stands tall in a chariot guided by one black and one white sphinx to show his control over positive and negative influences in his life. Because the sphinx is a creature who is non controllable, this man shows great force and earned respect. He is dressed in black and white and has two gold crescent moons on his shoulder (the moon represents his universal knowledge and the ability to face his fears). The canopy of the chariot is decorated with stars , and the charioteer has an eight pointed star above the crown he wears on his head. This is a card of control, self discovery, bravery and facing one’s fears.
Reflection for today: Many times we are faced with something that requires strength and self control. We have free will and therefore have choices. How we handle obstacles and delays is a test of our will. When we fall off of a horse, the best strategy is to climb back on before fear overtakes us. Hard control may be necessary, so today is a day to go forward with determination. In order to climb a mountain, we must first start with a hill and work our way up to the bigger challenge. Preparation builds confidence.

3/16/04 The six of cups
In this beautiful card we see a scene of a quaint little village with warm cozy cottages and a white bricked sidewalk where a man of prominence strides proudly in the background. In the foreground are two children, a boy and a girl, They appear to be planting lilies (purity) into six golden cups. One of the cups is being offered by the young boy to the little girl who gazes gratefully upon the flowers. This is a wonderful card that conjures up fond memories and happy feelings from perhaps a long lost childhood. The suit of cups represents the element of water (feelings and emotions). The number six is the number of harmony and co-operation. This card is a gentle reminder of fond memories and happiness. There are times when out of nowhere, we may be reminded of people and places that once touched our hearts. It is important to remember the people who played an important role in our lives. All experiences enrich and teach us. We may find ourselves thinking about past friendships lately or family members who we haven’t had contact with lately. This is a good time to get in touch with our “roots” and past acquaintances. There may be some unresolved issues that need closure. In order to open new doors of experience, some old doors may need to be re-opened so that we may close them properly and move forward to create new memories.

3/23/04 Temperance
Temperance is the fourteenth card of the major arcana . Fourteen is broken down to 1+4=5. The number five is a number of change and uncertainty but also represents challenges. Temperance is ruled by Sagittarius which is the element of fire (passion and creative ideas and energy). In this card we see an angel neither male nor female so the balance of opposites is suggested. The angel has red wings of passion and is wearing an amulet of a triangle inside of a perfect square on his/her chest to represent inner and outer balance. The angel has golden hair and a golden circle (endless wisdom) over the third eye to show that he/she is guided by intuition. There is a halo of purity around the angels head. There is a green lush field with mountains and pastures and yellow flowers growing tall in the grass, this represents inner growth both physically and spiritually. Where the sun should be, instead is a glowing golden crown to show that everything in this environment is under control. There is a clear blue river bank on the edge of the field. The angel has one foot on the ground and the other in the river bank as he/she balances two golden cups, one in each hand gently pouring water from one cup to the next. Quite simply, this card is about balance, determination, creating harmony and healing. The reflection for this card is to gently caress each moment and handle it with care. In times of sadness and uncertainty, understanding and love helps the healing process begin. Difficulties are best approached when weighed carefully with patience and nurturing. Let your inner light guide you. Today is a day to be inspired.

4/01/2004 The ace of cups
All aces in the tarot numerically represent the number one-the number of beginnings-the root of the matter. The suit of cups is the element of water (feelings and emotions). In this card we see the hand of the divine as it emerges from a gray cloud, this represents manifestation of our emotional thoughts. In the hand is a large golden chalice. The chalice is held over an ocean filled with lotus blossoms  which is the symbol of awakening. The chalice is overflowing with five streams of water which represents the five senses. Twenty five yods (the Hebrew letter for the divine) fall from the cup. A dove flies toward the cup holding a wafer or host in its beak as if it is going to drop it into the cup. This represents the five elements (Spirit, Air, Earth, Fire and Water) and uniting the spiritual with the physical. This card is the root of love and inspiration. The beginning of emotional and spiritual attainment. This is a time of overflowing emotions. This is happiness in abundance. Today, no matter what, look closely with your heart . Look for the good, because it is there, you can not see it with your eyes, you feel it because, it is within all of us.  Trust in your inner voice. Reflect on the love that has filled your life and the love you can give. Treat others as you would want to be treated. This is the law of karma.

4/8/04 The nine of cups
The suit of cups represents our emotions, feelings and matters of the heart. The number nine is the number of completion and the wisdom gained from experience. In this card we see a portly man sitting in a yellow room (yellow represents enlightenment, warmth and comfort) Behind the man is a blue (blue represents calmness) covered table holding nine neatly arranged golden cups (our emotions). The man is sitting with his arms crossed to show that he is pleased and contented. He is dressed in white with gray stripes (insincere motives can be overcome by pureness of heart). He wears a red hat with a red feather (passions in flight). For all practical purposes, this man has achieved success and is reaping the benefits of his labor. This is the card of wishes fulfilled and attainment. With success comes enlightenment and confidence. As long as your intentions are pure then by the law of karma you shall reap what you have sown. This is a good time to reflect on your deeds and see the good that you have achieved up to this point in your life. Every dark cloud has a silver lining and for every negative there is a positive but it must be sought out. Look around you today and see the good that is within you. Look for happiness and you shall find reward.

4/15/04 The three of swords
The suit of swords represents thoughts, actions and conflicts. The number three is the result after the union of the two’s which is growth and expansion. Whether thoughts are of a constructive or destructive nature, there is growth from experience. The picture on this card is a darkened cloud filled sky as rain pours out from the heavens. In the middle of the storm is a heart pierced by three double edge swords to show that the pain cuts both ways (perhaps we are the cause or the recipients of a hurtful situation.) There is turmoil and renewal as rain washes away the unstable foundations giving way for new seeds of thought and transition. This is a card of pain but also of healing after the storms of conflict. When loss or sadness occurs in our lives, it is best to learn from the hard lessons and prepare ourselves for the healing process. Before we can move on mentally, we must first let the emotional wounds heal.
